On June 19, the Day of the City, the official ceremony of handing over the Ankai buses of the domestic assembly took place. These are the first of 300 buses, the contract for delivery of which was signed at the end of 2018 between "SPK Shymkent" JSC and "SaryarkaAvtoProm" LLP . Mayor of Shymkent Gabidulla Abdrakhimov took part in the ceremony.
The buses were purchased as part of the financial leasing program for the renewal of the bus fleet, the operator of which is "DBK-Leasing" JSC (a subsidiary of "Development Bank of Kazakhstan" JSC, which is part of the National Managing Holding "Baiterek").
The main purpose of the transformation in passenger transport is to ensure maximum convenience for passengers. Shymkent's bus fleet needs to be updated, most of the buses running on the routes of the metropolis older than 7 years.
The new buses are equipped with ramps for transporting people with disabilities and children in wheelchairs, meet all technical standards and modern requirements. The total capacity of the passengers is 56 people, 8.5 m long. Additional comfort and safety are provided by air conditioning systems, video surveillance, as well as a video notification system for passengers in the cabin. The purchased buses will be equipped with a passenger flow meter and fuel consumption sensors, as well as the introduction of an electronic ticketing system.
