Public transport in Aktau has been 100% updated. Akim of the Mangistau region Nurlan Nogaev announced this at a press conference at the Central Communications Service.
Part of the buses running through the regional center were last updated in 2011. Until 2020, outdated vehicles were used on city bus routes.
Two years ago, with the support of the akimats of the Mangistau region and Aktau, 18 new buses were purchased for JSC "NC" SEC "Caspian" under the leasing program of JSC "Industrial Development Fund" and launched on routes No. 3, No. 7.
In addition, in February 2021, in order to modernize city routes No. 5, No. 4, the carrier purchased 20 buses on its own initiative. Thus, 70% of the city's public transport buses have been renovated.
The issue of the planned renewal of bus routes No. 2, No. 4 was especially acute. To solve this problem, with the support of the akimats of the Mangistau region and Aktau, a feasibility study was prepared for the purchase of 16 new buses through JSC NC SEC Caspian, the first 20% was paid from the state budget. 12 buses arrived in the city in June this year.
The characteristics of the buses are adapted to the continental climate of Mangistau.
The public transport salon is equipped with an air conditioning and cooling system, wireless Wi-Fi, validators for online payments, ramps for the disabled, and 4 video cameras are installed for the safety of passengers and the driver.
One outdoor and three video cameras inside the buses are connected directly to the Operational Control Center of the regional police department. Public transport is designed for 56 passengers.
The buses will be put into operation from July 1, 2022, and then the renewal of the city's public transport will be 100%.
