Updating the material and technical base of firefighters: Mangistau rescuers received new special equipment

On September 20, a ceremony took place in Aktau to hand over the keys to 31 new special equipment to employees of the Emergency Situations Department of the Mangistau region. Among the transferred vehicles are tankers, vehicles for fire fighting, communications and lighting, as well as specialized vehicles for emergency rescue operations, canine service, gas and smoke protection service and other important technical equipment, the press service of the akim of the Mangistau region reports.

The event was attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations Syrym Shariphanov, the first deputy akim of the Mangistau region Zhumabay Karagayev, honorary veterans of the emergency authorities and representatives of key companies involved in the acquisition of this equipment.

Zhumabai Karagaev wished the employees of the Emergency Situations Department of the Mangistau region success in their work and emphasized that updating firefighting equipment will directly improve the efficiency and quality of their service.

“New special equipment will allow our rescuers to quickly and successfully respond to emergency situations, save lives and ensure the safety of our citizens,” Zhumabay Karagaev emphasized.

According to the latest data, the material and technical equipment of the fire equipment fleet of the Mangistau region is 90%. The new equipment will complement their capabilities and improve emergency response.

The total number of emergency response vehicles of the Mangistau region for fire fighting and emergency rescue operations is 127 units, including 109 fire engines and 18 technical units of operational rescue teams.

From 2014 to 2022, thanks to the support of the regional akimat, more than 30 units of equipment were purchased at the expense of the local budget.

This year, for the first time, 31 new technical equipment were purchased, of which 29 units were purchased using financial leasing, and two units were purchased from the local budget. All equipment was produced in Kazakhstan by the Kamaz Engineering company and purchased through the Industrial Development Fund JSC.

- The acquisition of 30 new units of equipment at one time is an important point for the Mangistau region. Previously, we have repeatedly replenished the material and technical base, but this year, for the first time, thanks to the support of the regional akimat, it was possible to make such a large-scale leap in the development of the fire fighting equipment fleet. As firefighters, our main goal is to ensure the safety of life and well-being of our population, as well as to protect the interests of our country.
