A Small Industrial Zone Opened in Taraz with Financial Support from Industrial Development Fund JSC

06.08.2025

A new small industrial zone has been launched in the city of Taraz with financial support from Industrial Development Fund JSC. It is designed to provide the necessary infrastructure for new manufacturing facilities and to help expand the capacities of existing industrial enterprises.

The small industrial zone, located within the territory of SPC "Taraz", aims to offer ready-to-use production facilities for small and medium-sized businesses. Thus, with the support of the Fund, additional opportunities are being created to foster the growth of domestic manufacturers.

The Taraz small industrial zone comprises 10 modern production buildings with a total area of approximately 40,000 square meters, situated on more than 3 hectares of land. These spacious facilities will host various types of manufacturing operations across multiple economic clusters, from the textile industry to the production of construction materials.

Currently, Taraz is the sixth-largest city in Kazakhstan by population, home to over 430,000 residents. The regional center of the Zhambyl Region is demonstrating a high level of business activity and a stable increase in enterprises and industries operating across various sectors of the economy.

It is well known that one of the main challenges facing emerging manufacturers is the acquisition or rental of suitable production premises. The initiative of Industrial Development Fund JSC is specifically aimed at addressing this pressing issue for Kazakhstani industrial startups and existing companies seeking to expand their production.

A key advantage of launching this small industrial zone is the access it provides domestic entrepreneurs to production facilities at prices significantly below market rates, offering an additional incentive for business development.

In general, the creation of small industrial zones with financial support from Industrial Development Fund JSC is intended to achieve several key goals:

  • Providing infrastructure support for entrepreneurs — the establishment of ready-to-use, convenient production bases for small and medium-sized enterprises will help reduce startup costs and allow entrepreneurs to focus entirely on growing their businesses;
  • Developing competitive manufacturing capacity — these small industrial zones will not only support existing enterprises but also contribute to the emergence of new ones;
  • Ensuring employment for the local population — the development of small and medium-sized businesses within these zones will facilitate the creation of new jobs.

Moreover, the establishment of small industrial zones will stimulate national economic development by increasing the share of small and medium-sized businesses, boosting tax revenues, and creating a long-term multiplier effect.
