A new municipal solid waste (MSW) sorting and construction waste processing facility has been launched in the city of Rudny, Kostanay Region, with financial support from Industrial Development Fund JSC and Zhasyl Damu JSC. As part of this environmental project, funding was provided for the purchase of new, modern equipment that meets international standards in this field, under a preferential interest rate of 3% per annum for a term of 13 years.
The operations of the waste processing facility operated by Rudny-Abat-2006 LLP are aimed at processing MSW from across the Kostanay Region, including waste generated by individuals and enterprises engaged in construction, installation, demolition, and dismantling activities, which are known to produce significant volumes of potentially recyclable materials. The facility has the capacity to sort and process 50,000 tons of MSW and 30,000 tons of construction waste annually.
The new facility will process waste materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic and polymer products, broken glass, scrap metal, crushed stone, and substandard construction materials.
The establishment of this waste processing facility is expected to make a significant contribution to reducing environmental impact and emissions into the environment through organized sorting, processing, storage, and the sale of secondary raw materials for reuse in production.
Thanks to the launch of this MSW sorting and processing facility with financial support from Industrial Development Fund JSC, more than 30 new jobs will be created, and the environmental safety of the region will be improved.
It is worth noting that since 2024, within the framework of the Concept for Transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to a “Green Economy,” Industrial Development Fund JSC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Zhasyl Damu JSC, has been implementing a program to support enterprises engaged in the sorting, processing, and disposal of municipal solid waste, aimed at strengthening the ecological balance.
