On October 11, 2024, the seminar “Local Content in Goods: Strategic Development of the Country and Industry” was held at the N. U. Balgimbayev Communications Development Center in Atyrau city, organized by the KazService Union of Oilfield Service Companies in collaboration with Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO).
Attendees included Rashid Zhaksylykov, Chairman of the Presidium of the KazService Union of Oilfield Service Companies; Kudaibergen Arymbek, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Serik Shapkenov, Akim of the Atyrau Region; Kamil Akatov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Science Fund JSC; Murat Amrin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of NCE Atameken; Kevin Lyon, General Director of Tengizchevroil LLP; Marat Zharylkasynov, Western Region Representative of Industrial Development Fund JSC; top managers from key oil and gas companies; leading industry experts; and local manufacturers.
The main objectives of the seminar were to accelerate the involvement of domestic producers in major projects, enhance the competitiveness of regional enterprises, expand their production capacities, strengthen business ties between companies, and increase local content in goods.
More than 160 participants from over 50 enterprises attended the seminar. The interactive format of the event allowed participants to discuss specific collaboration opportunities, present proposals, and offer initiatives to representatives of major international and national companies.
One of the key segments of the seminar was a presentation on the activities of Industrial Development Fund JSC.
Marat Zharylkasynov, the fund’s Western Region representative, provided delegates with detailed information on the financial institution’s activities aimed at the comprehensive development of the country’s industrial and infrastructure sectors, as well as the funding mechanisms and programs it offers.
Marat Zharylkasynov highlighted the fund's preferential interest rates on leasing financing for investment projects, the reduction of collateral requirements for financial leasing through tools provided by Industrial Development Fund JSC, and the full support offered by the fund’s staff in preparing the necessary documentation for review by the financial institution.
The representative also elaborated on the fund’s financing programs, which encompass the manufacturing sector and projects related to waste processing, sorting, further processing, and disposal.
In addition, Marat Zharylkasynov informed the participants about the support and financing measures available for socially significant projects, including the acquisition of vehicles for emergency and operational services, specialized machinery, agricultural equipment, buses, and aircraft.
In conclusion, the representative of Industrial Development Fund JSC provided comprehensive answers to questions posed by the seminar delegates, ensuring a clear and informative discussion.
