On September 16, as part of the official visit of German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the Kazakhstan-Germany Business Forum took place with the participation of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The event was dedicated to the advancement of Kazakhstan-Germany cooperation in priority economic sectors and attracted approximately 500 representatives from the governmental and business communities of both countries.
Participants included Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Kuantyrov, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Michael Kellner, Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Michael Harms, Chairman of the Board of NMH Baiterek JSC Rustam Karagoishin and others.
Also attending the business forum was Rinat Eduardovich Gapparov, Chairman of the Board of Industrial Development Fund JSC.
The forum featured several panel sessions where participants discussed mutual cooperation in the fields of machinery, industry, agriculture, and energy.
Following the forum, 36 agreements were signed with a total value of $6.3 billion. Notably, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Industrial Development Fund JSC, Zhasyl Damu JSC, Seven Rivers Technologies LLP and the German company HORN Glass Industries AG.
Under the Memorandum, the parties outlined several areas for mutual cooperation, including waste management, green technology transfer, and experience exchange.
The implementation of these agreements represents a significant step towards enhancing the productive collaboration between the two countries.
