Industrial Development Fund JSC supports projects aimed at sustainable development, reducing carbon footprints, and improving the quality of life by investing in innovative technologies and infrastructure.
In 2024, within the framework of Kazakhstan's transition to a “green economy” Concept, the Fund in collaboration with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Zhasyl Damu JSC launched a Waste Processing, Sorting, and Disposal Program.
Under this funding program, a pool of 94 investment projects in the field of waste management was formed with funding from Zhasyl Damu JSC as directed by the Government of Kazakhstan. To date, the total financing volume for the Program from 2024 to 2026 amounts to 185 billion tenge.
Specifically, the Fund has preliminarily reviewed 44 projects and has currently approved 4 projects for funding. These include a project for organizing the sorting of municipal solid waste and processing construction waste in Kostanay region, a project for acquiring special equipment to provide waste collection services in Stepnogorsk, a project for modernizing the production and processing of automotive tire waste with an expanded product line in Shymkent, and a project for modernizing the production of rubber technical products processing and disposal in Kostanay region.
The approved projects are aimed at reducing the amount of waste in the country's regions, preventing its negative impact on nature and public health, and promoting reuse and recycling. For instance, processing rubber technical waste offers a wide range of applications across various industrial sectors. After sorting and separating rubber waste, such as old car tires, rubber crumb is directed towards recycling, paving the way for numerous secondary uses, including the production of asphalt mixtures, rubber coatings, energy production, fertilizers, and more.
The implementation of the approved projects involves a comprehensive approach to waste management, ensuring the introduction of innovative technologies and the modernization of processing equipment in the country's regions, and will create 102 new jobs.
It is worth noting that the Industrial Development Fund reviews and accepts applications for waste processing project financing under the following conditions:
- Reward rate – 3% per annum,
- Lease financing term – from 3 to 15 years,
- Currency of financing – tenge,
- The lessee’s own contribution – at least 20% of the project cost, with no less than 10% in cash.
