Industrial Development Fund JSC Supported Production of Caustic Soda and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) in Turkestan Region

Industrial Development Fund JSC has supported the project for the construction of an innovative complex for the production of caustic soda and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in the Turkestan region at the request of Sastobe Innovative Complex LLP.

Today, caustic soda and PVC are in high demand in the industry and have found applications in various fields. For instance, caustic soda is used in the chemical industry, construction materials production, paper and cardboard manufacturing, fabric bleaching, and in the oil industry for cleaning various petroleum products. PVC is used in the medical field, construction, as well as in the production of automotive parts, plumbing, etc.

The investments from the Industrial Development Fund within the framework of the project are aimed at purchasing innovative equipment for the production of caustic soda with a capacity of 100 thousand tons per day and PVC with a capacity of 120 thousand tons per day.

A unique feature of the planned complex in the Turkestan region will be the use and implementation of energy-saving membrane technology for the production of caustic soda, which saves up to 30% electricity and was developed by the Tianjin Cement Industry Research and Design Institute (China).

It is also worth noting that there is no PVC production in Kazakhstan, therefore all products manufactured in the complex will be in demand both in the domestic market and in the markets of neighboring countries.

The project for the construction of the complex for the production of caustic soda and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in the Turkestan region will be implemented within the framework of the Concept for the Development of the Manufacturing Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029.

The construction of the complex for the production of caustic soda and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in the Turkestan region will contribute to the development of the country's chemical industry, increase tax revenues to the budget, and create 346 new jobs.
