Industrial Development Fund JSC supported the construction of the Tobol transport and logistics complex within the industrial zone of Kostanay. The operations of this modern terminal will be aimed at significantly increasing the volume of international freight transportation, performing necessary documentation processing, container and warehousing operations, ensuring regulated temperature-controlled storage, and managing cargo flows.
The site designated for the logistics center was visited by Rinat Gapparov, Chairman of the Management Board of Industrial Development Fund JSC, Ermek Kosherbayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Kumar Aksakalov, Akim of the Kostanay region.
This infrastructure project will make a substantial contribution to strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as a key industrial and logistics hub on the Eurasian continent, connecting international transport corridors and forming a core of global trade and cooperation.
As part of this strategically important project, Industrial Development Fund JSC will provide comprehensive support, including financing for capital construction, procurement of high-tech equipment, and specialized terminal machinery. Leasing financing is planned to be provided to Tobol TLC LLP at a unified annual interest rate of 12.6%. Commissioning of the terminal is scheduled for the end of 2027.
During the site visit, Chairman of the Management Board of Industrial Development Fund JSC, Rinat Gapparov, emphasized the significance of this large-scale project:
"Industrial Development Fund systematically finances projects that primarily aim to ensure sustainable economic growth of our country and, ultimately, to increase its GDP. The key criterion for project support by the Fund is its long-term economic and social impact, which ensures the development of a particular sector for many years to come. In this case, the construction of the new Tobol logistics complex is intended to significantly enhance the logistics potential of the Republic and substantially increase the volume of cargo transported. Our country has enormous potential in this area, considering Kazakhstan’s historical geographic position in the heart of Eurasia. We must and will utilize this opportunity for the benefit of the national economy, and the construction of the logistics complex supported by the Fund is yet another confirmation of this approach. Furthermore, the location of the logistics center in Kostanay is logical, as the city is home to a number of industrial, machine-building, and agricultural enterprises that regularly import various goods and export their own products,” Rinat Gapparov emphasized.
The projected capacity of the Tobol international complex is around 400,000 containers per year, which will increase the volume of freight transit through the Kostanay region by five times.
Additionally, the creation of the transport and logistics center with financial support from Industrial Development Fund JSC will result in the creation of approximately 500 new jobs.
