Industrial Development Fund JSC has supported the project to establish the production of aluminum containers in the Ontustik Industrial Zone in Shymkent at the request of KazAlPack LLP.
Aluminum beverage cans are the most environmentally friendly packaging material today. They have a higher recycling rate and more recycled content than competing types of packaging.
The investments of the Industrial Development Fund under the project are aimed at purchasing specialized equipment with a production capacity of up to 2.4 billion aluminum cans per year.
It should be noted that KazAlPack is the only company in Central Asia that produces aluminum containers. It is expected that more than 40% of the products manufactured at the plant will be supplied to the markets of Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan.
The high-tech equipment purchased for the plant has been produced by Chinese units of Stolle Machinery from U.S., which is one of the market leaders in the design, configuration, and supply of production lines for aluminum cans, as well as by German and Kazakh equipment manufacturers.
The project to establish the production of aluminum containers at KazAlPack plant has been implemented as part of the Concept of Development of the Manufacturing Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2029.
The introduction of cutting-edge technologies and the manufacturing of high-quality products at the plant will provide the country’s food industry with high-quality, environmentally friendly packaging, increase tax revenues for the country’s budget and create 103 new jobs.
