QazTehna, a leading domestic manufacturer of buses and commercial vehicles based in Saran, has announced the launch of Kazakhstan’s first-ever stamping facility for vehicle body components.
The initiative is part of a large-scale investment program aimed at building a full-cycle production process. The project is being financed through QazTehna’s own resources, with additional support from the Industrial Development Fund JSC.
At the heart of the new facility is a state-of-the-art production hall spanning 10,693 square meters, which will house Kazakhstan’s first and only hydraulic stamping press — specially designed for manufacturing body parts for buses.
This cutting-edge production capability will enable the company to significantly increase the share of local content in its final products and create new jobs within the region.
The manufacturing process will utilize 08KP-grade galvanized steel, supplied by a domestic metallurgical plant. This steel has been internationally certified, confirming its compliance with global quality standards.
This development represents a major milestone in Kazakhstan’s industrialization and import substitution efforts, and reinforces the country’s commitment to strengthening industrial self-sufficiency.
In the initial phase, production will focus on body parts for key Yutong models, including city, tourist, and school buses. Over time, the product range will be expanded to include components for new models of HOWO-branded buses and commercial vehicles.
QazTehna remains committed to advancing deep localization and building a comprehensive technological cluster. This includes expanding high-value production processes, increasing the use of domestic raw materials, and supporting the growth of related industries.
